Recognized as one of the world's leading authorities on peptide science as it relates to both personal care and pharmaceutical skincare, Tim works closely with Dr. Rodan and Dr. Fields to secure Rodan + Fields a leadership position in the skincare category. Prior to Rodan + Fields, Tim served as Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer of Helix BioMedix Incorporated where he was responsible for all aspects of clinical and non-clinical development of dermatological products. Technologies he has developed have been incorporated into more than 100 skincare products targeting a wide range of skin conditions including acne, rosacea, hyper-pigmentation, photoaging and inflammation. Previously, he served as Principal Scientist at IntraBiotics Pharmaceuticals Inc., where he discovered and developed both topical and systemic antibiotics. His work has resulted in more than 10 patents and patent applications as well as over 80 peer reviewed publications.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology from the University of Wales, Cardiff and a PhD in Molecular Epidemiology from Oxford University and the University of Wales, Cardiff. He conducted post-doctoral research at the Antimicrobial Research Centre at the University of Leeds UK and the Department of Microbiology at the University of British Columbia.
